Insulated Glass Units

  • Do not use anything that may scratch the glass surface, including any sharp or abrasive objects (e.g., razor blades, steel wool, scrapers).
  • To avoid damage, do not use pressure washers or high-pressure sprayers to wash or rinse your windows or doors.
  • Always use clean water when cleaning, rinsing, soaking, washing, or wiping the glass surface. Dry with a soft cloth or squeegee.
  • To clean the glass, use a vinegar-based cleaner or a mild, nonabrasive cleaning solution. Test cleaners in an inconspicuous area first.
  • Avoid abrasive, petroleum-based, or caustic cleaners and oil-based lubricants. They may damage the finish or glass.
  • Tinting or applying foil to the interior side of windows or doors can lead to excessive heat buildup, potentially causing damage to the insulated glass.

Frame & Sash

  • Always keep sill and track areas clean and free of dirt and debris. Carefully vacuum areas before cleaning window or door.
  • Avoid abrasive, petroleum-based or caustic cleaners and oil-based lubricants. They may cause damage to the frame finish or glass.
  • Always use clean water when cleaning, rinsing, soaking, washing or wiping the surface. Dry with a soft cloth.
  • Use a mild, non-abrasive cleaning solution to remove dirt and stains safely. Test cleaners in an inconspicuous area first.
  • Always keep all drainage and weep holes clear of dirt or obstructions. Check regularly to avoid leakage and damage.

Hardware & Parts

  • Roller systems and moving hardware parts should be lubricated periodically. Spray a small amount and always wipe off any excess.
  • Repair or replace broken, worn, or damaged parts to prevent a decrease in performance (e.g., lock, rollers, seals, weather strips).
  • Screens may be carefully vacuumed to remove dust or washed with clean water, a mild cleaning solution, and a soft brush.
  • Rollers may be adjusted to keep windows, doors and screens sliding smoothly.
